I am planning to stay in Nepal if somehow visa gets denied . But i do not see the reason why they would deny a visa .

Let me share my experience that would help a lot of students for reall.

I am in F1 and my visa was expired in 2007. I would be graduating in ths June 2010. The last time I went Nepal was in 2005 when I had a valid visa. It was already 4 years missing nepal. So, I decided to go Neapl in December where I had 3 weeks winter break. I knew i had taken a risk. But it was the perfect time for me to renew the visa.

I went to Nepal and applied the Visa. Gave the interview. the only doc that i had was - Letter of status from university, officail transcript, the amount of fee that I have been payin for the university last 2 and a half years and a Bank Statement of 5000 dollars.

The counsellor asked me several questions. She was a kind of rude and asked me like what I did last several years. She went to my Sevis, went to my official transcript. At one point the way she was, I was thinking at the spot like why did I came to Nepal meaninng that what I am gonna do if she gives me a hard time. But at the end, she saw that I was going in university, graduating in June, has taken class more than full time, descent GPA and finally I got a visa.

I got a visa till 2013. Now no worries for me. No worries for visa for going grad school as I would definitely visit nepal before going grad schooll .. . . .

Hope this will help most of youll about those cases whose visa's are expired and wanna go nepal and renew the visa. goood luck for those who are in this cases .. . . .

bro haru ko tips ko laagi dhanyawaad...aba mero few concerns kasaile reply garidiyema aabhaari hune thiye:

1. maile 4 yrs visa apply garda dad, mom, me and sister dekhako thiye. pachhi mero bhai us aauda mom, dad ra him maatra show garyo. now, coming december (dec 2010) tira nepal jaane plan chha mero. tyo belama bhai dekhauda thik hola? he's also in us. we both are doing great with our studies (am a MS student - MS ko bichma visa thapna jaana laagya, before i start my phd), we both have no criminal records.

2. in case visa diyena (december ma) bhane, us chhirna ta paainchha ni? my visa won't expire till july 2011, and i-20 is valid till dec 2011.

bro haru le yeti simple kura pani bujhenau bhanya? i want to renew my visa around dec 2010, since my current visa is going to expire in june 2011. why? because once i start my phd, i'd still like to be able to go home whenever i want. so basically, mero haal ko visa saknu aghi nai naya visa thapne bhanya k saathi haru. aba kuro clear bhako bhaye lau na yaar, suggestions deu!

Ye Gule Keta ho, Bhikari le thikai ta bhandai cha, Kuro kina bujhdainau ? Its as simple as that. He wants to renew his VISA before he gets in PHD program so that he will be able to travel during his study without visiting Embassy again.
How hard was that ? afai kura nabujhne ani arulai blame garne ? Are you really a student here kukur ?? Do you go to one of the Nepali teaching elementary school in DC Area ?

Bhikaari, have you lost your mind or what? People are asking a legit question - how the fk would you justify your decision to extend your visa? Visa is only a means of entrance to the US. I-20 is all that's required once you enter the US, a valid visa is insignificant once you enter the country.

Hence, if you were to go home later this winter, there is no good reason for them to extend your visa because you would still have a valid visa to enter the US after your short trip. Baru, if you were to go home in the winter of 2011, your decision to apply for a visa will be legit.

Damn, I didnt see this thread in time. Hope Bhikari got his visa renewed.

I understand what Bhikari meant because I renewed my visa before it expired. I had two valid visa while I was reentering United States. Immigration officer at port of entry cancelled my old one ( draw a line on old visa and wrote CWOP dont know what that means).
But if your visa gets denied, counsellor has the right to cancel your old (existing visa). Just go to the American Library before you start the processing and you will know all the information you need. You wil need transcripts ( as a sheet, not sealed one) and verification of your stauts from your university. Rest of the documents, you have to arrang them from Nepal.

My visa was about to expire on May and I got my visa renewed on December
